We’ve just come from a truly amazing experience at this year’s Forum. It was wonderful to be in Las Vegas together, in person, with over three thousand of the extended Fiserv family of clients, partners, and associates. Over 160 high-quality sessions and panels covered and informed on topics ranging from core transformation to AI to digital banking and payments. We left inspired and energized, and hope you took away a deeper understanding of the key trends shaping our industry.
The theme for Finxact at Forum, and more broadly for our industry, was articulated by Frank Sanchez in his keynote address with Fiserv COO Guy Chiarello and Head of Digital Banking Whitney Russell. He distilled it all neatly into his offhand comment, “Next-Gen is Now-Gen.” That sums up where the banking industry is at this moment. Start your transformation journey NOW with Finxact.
Here is a brief recap of the terrific sessions led by Finxact clients, partners, and executives. Thank you to our panelists for generously sharing your insights and lessons learned with Forum attendees. And thank you to the hard-working team at Finxact and Fiserv, who worked to program this excellent content and crush the daunting logistics of putting on an event at this scale. And finally, a special thanks to the Finxact team members who were not at Forum – the brilliant and committed engineers, product owners, QAs, BAs, PIEs, service, support, legal, and risk professionals that are giving us a reason to be there.
Moving from the “Why” to the “How” – Finxact & Core Transformation
This was a packed house session, an early indicator that interest in Finxact was fever pitch at this year’s Forum. It helped that the panel’s lineup was comprised of rock stars. Ken Meyer from Truist, Renato Derraik from Live Oak, and Rich Longo from McKinsey had a standing-room-only crowd for their conversation with Fiserv’s Chief Revenue Officer, Chris Foskett. Ken and Rennato shared their experiences working with Finxact going back to 2019, and their future plans for Finxact as well. Rich provided the dispassionate, objective, and clear-eyed views for which McKinsey & Company is world-renowned and respected.
Discover How Finxact Empowers Fintechs & Embedded Finance
It was my pleasure and good fun to moderate this fantastic session. Much more than a core, we say that Finxact is a platform for the business of banking, fintech, and embedded finance. We’re creating the space, tools, and platform to unleash your innovative ideas, and this session really underscored that. It highlighted use cases from ONE, the hottest fintech; PRIMIS, a community bank that wholly reinvented itself as a digital attacker; and Philanthropi, a completely novel embedded finance play that introduces donor-advised funds into consumer banking.
Thank you to ONE CTO Mike Barreiro, PRIMIS CIO Cody Shefflett, and Philanthropi Founder Keith Leaphart for your vision, enthusiasm and passion. It was another packed session signaling the keen interest from attendees to hear from Finxact clients that are in production and on the journey with Finxact.
We asked the Finxact Product Pros to go under the hood for Forum attendees, and they happily did so. Finxact COO, Tom Lowry interviewed Finxact founder and CPO Deborah Kovacs on what distinguishes Finxact even among the few next-gen core providers. She didn’t spend much time on what she clearly considers ‘table stakes’ to be in that club, including critical architecture design elements such as real-time, API-First, and cloud native. She was much keener to explain how Finxact goes much further with its Event Driven architecture, Extensible data models, and Multi-position accounts. The audience then got to hear from Finxact Head of Solution Architecture, John Gomes, about how Finxact is coming hard and fast to the community institution market and existing Fiserv client base with the fully integrated full panoply of Fiserv Surround.
Console – the coolest web app that’s purpose-built for Finxact. In this Forum Fintalk, the indefatigable Andrew Weatherl, VP of Solution Enablement, explained masterfully and on a 15-minute timer how Console is the one-stop shop for product configuration, documentation, micro-learning experiences, extensibility, business rules, and payment rails for Finxact. Take a breath, AW, well done.
